Mosaic Counter Top

Can I tile over a pre-fab shower?
I want to remodel my bathroom/s I have 3 full B/Rooms, and I want to tile them ALL but I don't have the money to replace counter tops or renovation labor, or replace whole shower stools .
I want to put mosaic glass tiles over my existing (looks like prefab fiberglass) sink counters and I also want to put the tiles over the pre-fab shower, has 3 walls and a glass door, boxed in per say, and I want to extend the tile to the ceiling and around my tub which have the same hardened prefab material (looks plastic).
Is this possible? Will the mortar and tile stick to this material or is there any type of prep work needed. I really can't afford to rup anything out and replace tubs or showers, Please help.
Hello, I am not a full on mason or anything, but youre trying to do such an interesting thing on your own, I wanted to say a shout out. Kudos for thinking! You know, I have only done a small bit and small jobs of tile or assisted in others projects so far. I dont think I have ever heard of doind something like this, but If it were me, girl ! haha I would so try it! Heres what I would do. Decide on one of the bathrooms thats not heavily used, and for which you can test a small area. The I dea is to ' TEST' your idea. Normally id say you will see alot of ' no way, and dont do it's. But if you already have some tile and morter on hand and the area is small, ( smaller tiles would help too) I'd say at least take a sander to some fiberglass surface. Leave it rough so that it feels like what normal rough cement would be used as the foundation. do just 3 or so pieces check it at 24 hour intervals for 3 days. This would really let you know wheather or not you may have created a new makeover cost/cut or not. Honestly it MAY NOT be possible, but depending on how thin and rough you can make your base you might! The problems you might encounter would be not getting a level surface ( tiles will not lay flush) or after it is certainly dry, it falls away from your test area eaisily. While you are waiting for it to dry do your research on the normal, old school tile methods. Wouldnt that be cool if you figured out a sweet new way for the average consume to do it yourself over pre-fab tile work?! Good luck!
