Silver Glass Tile
alternative to e6000 glue in jewellery making?
I have recently started making glass tile/cabochon jewellery and have been using e6000 glue to set them into both silver plated and brass findings. My tube of E6000 is running low and I really want to find something else that is less toxic and stinky but will work just as well. The metal findings are smooth with no texture so I need a glue with a good strong grab that also wont damage the backing (paper) of the cabochons. I have tried hot glue and it really didn't work so well, plus it's messy and inconvenient. Can anybody suggest something that works just as well but without all the down sides ( I know all glue smells to some extent - but E6000 is majorly nasty). Whatever you suggest needs to be available in the UK, Thanks!
1) rough up the side of the finding that will be touching the metal with some sand paper. That'll help with adhesion.
2) consider learning how to actually set stones. If you buy premade bezels, it's actually quite easy, and doesn't require any glue at all.
