Wall Floor Counter
I need help with a wall color in my kitchen. We are installling black granite counter tops.......?
and stainless steel appliances. My floor is a tan laminate and cabinets are a honey oak color. I was going to go a tan color on the walls but...to much tan? To safe? I really don't want red or a yellow either. Help!
Depending on what color the tan is: is it a creamy tan, an adobe tan, a khaki tan, or a peachy tan?
You might try sage.
Don't go with more tan. You'll be tired of it soon. Cream is not only safe, but soothing. I would not go with any bright color as the absolute black is strong all by itself as is stainless. Bright colors would look like a carnival. Do not go with any primary color.
Go to benjaminmoore.com and look at the following colors:
Mohegan Sage, Sag Harbor Gray, Alexandria Beige, Wethersfield Moss. They have a few gray shades that are nice too. But silvery grays not brownish grays. One pretty one is called Ice Cube Silver. Gorgeous. I used that on a bathroom door. Nantucket Fog is good, too.
Black granite and stainless steel are sleek, urbane combinations and these "warmish" colors could make the total look less stark if that's what you want to achieve.
I have absolute black granite counters, stainless and glass cabinets, an absolute black granite floor, and Benjamin Moore "Mirage White" walls. Mirage is white with a pinkish (NOT PINK) cast that looks a little bit like the color of the inside of a white flower. It takes a bit of the edgy chic off the black/stainless total look.
